A Deed appointed to be Recorded

1654 Bradford,
Governor New Plymouth,
November 29, 1652

Know all men by these Presents that I Wasamequin and Wamsutta my son have sold unto Mr. William Bradford, Capt. Standish, Thomas Southworth, John Winslow, John Cooke, and their Associates the Purchasers or old comers all the tracts or track of Land Lying three miles Eastwards from a River called Cushnett to a Certain harbor, Called Acoaksett to a flat Rock on the westward side of the sd Harbor and whereas the said Harbor divideth itself into several branches, the Westernmost arm to be the bounds and all the tract or tracts of Land from the said Westermost arm to the said River of Cirishnett three miles Eastward of the same, with all the Profits and benefits within the said tract, with the River, Creeks, meadows, necks and Island, that Ly in or before the same, and from the sea upwards, to go so high that the English may not be annoyed by the hunting of the Indians in any part of their cattle, and I, Wasamequin and Wamsutta do Promise to Remove all the Indians within a year from the date hereof that do Live in the said tract, And we the sd Wasamequin and Wamsutta have fully Bargained, sold unto the aford sd Mr. William Bradford, Capt. Standish, Thomas Southworth, John Winslow John Cooke and the Rest of their Associates the Purchasers or old Comers.

To have and to hold for them their Heirs and assigns forever And in Consideration hereof we the aforementioned are to pay to the said Wasamequin and Wamsutta as followeth: thirty yards of cloth, eight moose skins, fifteen axes, fifteen hoes, fifteen pairs of breaches, Eight blankets, two kittles, one Cloak, 2L in wampum, Eight pair of Stocking, Eight pair of shoes, one Iron Pott and Ten Shillings in another, Commodity; and in Witness whereof we have Interchangeably set our hands, the day and year abofe written -
