Bicentennial Interviews...
In 1974 the U. S. government appropriated a sum of money to record by personal interviews and photographs the people and places in 1975 and 1976 throughout our vast country. This was in honor of our bicentennial celebration that was held in 1976.

Each city and town throughout the United States has their documents produced as a permanent record on file. Westport's records are located in the Westport Free Public Library located on Old County Road here in town.

We are making these photographs and interviews available to you in this section of our web site. All together there will be 98 interviews and 96 photographs on line for you enjoyment when we finish. (This is the total of all of them in the library.)
