You may not...but Al sure does?! After nearly five decades of collecting old pictures and postcards of our coastal area, Al Lees has gone high-tech and is offering these images to our community online in a searchable archive. The above
picture is one pulled at random from our database to give you an idea
of what you'll find. We will
be adding pictures and other historical artifacts regularly. We have also
been putting together some interesting historical
articles on selected subjects, such as The
History of Hix's Bridge, and the 1954 Hurricane
Rescue at Westport Point. To enhance the pictures, and their importance,
we're calling on all of you "old-timers" out there to look at
the pictures and send in any stories that you can recall of the pictures
that you see. So search our archive! We hope that all of you enjoy this little bit of history! We're having a ball putting it all together. |
