Wheat & Barley Free Beer

Allison, our Wine Department manager would like to introduce Redbridge beer. Redbridge beer is made without wheat or barley and is a rich, full-bodied lager brewed from sorghum for a well-balanced, moderately hopped taste. Redbridge is made from sorghum, a safe grain for those allergic to wheat or gluten, and no blending or mixing of the ingredients takes place in order to preserve its purity. The true art of brewing is practiced from the milling to the preparation of the mash through fermentation and aging. The result is a hand-crafted, quality, specialty beer taste.
The above information is from www.redbridgebeer.com.

Celiac Disease is an intestinal disorder in which a person has a severe genetic intolerance to gluten. Gluten is the sticky protein found in foods containing oats, barley, wheat, and rye. Many Americans also suffer from wheat allergies and a good percentage of those people have a severe intolerance to gluten. The only treatment for Celiac Disease is to maintain a Gluten Free diet which involves a change in lifestyle, reading many labels and using good resources like the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness.nfcaversion2.JPG

The NFCA's is a dedicated organization working to raise awareness and funding for celiac disease that will advance research, education and screening. Part of this goal is to improve the quality of the life of children and adults affected by this autoimmune disease through grant making and direct programming.
